About Plainly Living

Everyday life should not be this hard to understand.

Plainly Living exists because important information too often arrives wrapped in fine print, jargon, pressure, or a dozen open browser tabs.

Why we are here

More clarity. Less friction.

We create practical, plain-English guidance for older adults and the family members and friends who help them. Our subjects are ordinary but consequential: recognizing a scam, preparing useful information, making a home easier to live in, or understanding what to do next.

We believe sophisticated people deserve straightforward explanations. Age does not reduce anyone to a stereotype, and offering support does not have to mean taking control.

Plainly Living is a Small Hours Labs product. We are building it as a modern consumer publication and practical-guide brand: calm, careful, useful, and honest about what our information can and cannot do.

What guides us

01

Clarity

We explain the thing itself before adding context, caveats, or options.

02

Usefulness

Every piece should help someone understand, decide, prepare, or take a sensible next step.

03

Independence

Good guidance supports a person's judgment. It does not talk down to them or take over.

04

Family support

We make room for the people helping someone they love, while respecting the person at the center.
